New Board Members Announced for Albyn Housing Society

Monday 17 September 2018

We are bidding farewell to Douglas Russell in his role as Chair.  Douglas has served on the current Board for six years and he stepped down from his leadership post this month.  He will, however, retain his position as a non-executive member of the Board. Douglas will be replaced by the current Vice-Chair, Shaun Smith, who will be stepping in to the role immediately.

Additionally, two new Board members will be joining Albyn this month; Lisette Howlett and Lynne Clow. These non-executive directors bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and industry insight.

Lynne is currently serving as Senior Vice President at oil and gas organisation KCA Deutag. With many years’ experience within a HR remit, she brings a wider understanding of senior management practices, business operations, and finances.

Lisette currently holds two Managing Director roles in Sandler Training and MLH Global bringing global strategy, business expertise, operational experience and project management skills to the Society.

Calum Macaulay, our Chief Executive, said: “It’s a transformative time at Albyn as our current Chair, Douglas, steps down from his role. Douglas has successfully steered Albyn through challenging times such as the roll out of Universal Credit.

“His leadership has helped us deliver ambitious projects to our local communities, including the newly launched FitHomes at Dalmore. He challenged us to grow, improve and succeed, going beyond the remits of a housing society – I know from Shaun’s contributions over the past two years that our new Chair will echo this in his leadership.

“With these changes comes the opportunity for Albyn to grow, to welcome new talents and skills on to our Board, and renew our commitment to bring more quality, affordable communities to the Highlands of Scotland.

“Shaun’s new leadership, and our newly appointed Board members, will support the plans of Albyn Housing Society, Highland Residential and Albyn Enterprises, pushing the business forward to bring more quality affordable homes to communities in the Highlands.”
