Rural Home Ownership Grants

The Society acts as agent on behalf of Communities Scotland for the Rural Home Ownership Grant, which is a mechanism to assist local people in modest incomes to build houses of their own.
The means-tested grant is aimed at people who may aspire to home ownership but cannot afford to buy due to high local prices and limited mortgage potential. The grant seeks to bridge that funding gap, subject to constraints of size and cost, following a detailed appraisal of eligibility. We will deal with enquiries from most of the Highlands area with the exception of Skye and Lochalsh, Lochaber and Caithness where other agents operate. Our experienced staff are able to give clear advice and guidance through the process.
