Tidy Tenancy Reward Scheme

At Albyn, we really appreciate tenants who work with us to keep look after their homes and who have trouble free tenancies. Most tenants will do this. But unfortunately we still spend thousands of pounds each year bringing properties that tenants have let back into a reasonable state for the next tenant to move in to.
This means we have less money available to spend on other improvements and repairs that would benefit all tenants.
And so we want to encourage more tenants to work with us when they are planning to leave a tenancy, and to reward the many of you who act responsibly to make sure that your home is left in a good condition for the next tenant under our ‘Tidy Tenancy’ scheme. The reward has been increased recently. You can now claim up to £100 when some simple conditions are met.
What do I need to do to get a Tidy Tenancy reward?
It couldn’t be easier. When you are making arrangements to leave a tenancy, all you need to do is contact us and arrange for one of our maintenance officers to be able to come and inspect your home before you go. The maintenance officer will talk to you about any work you will need to do before you leave and make some arrangements with you about how this will be carried out.
What reward will I get?
If you have given us at least four weeks’ notice that you plan to leave (this may be less if you are transferring to another property) and our Maintenance team have been able to call and inspect your home in good time before you go, you will get a reward of £50.
This will be topped with another £50 when you leave providing some simple conditions have been met:
- You return a full set of keys
-
You leave us your forwarding address
-
You give us final meter readings and tell us who your gas / electricity suppliers are
-
The house is clear of furniture, belongings and rubbish when you leave
-
The garden is tidy and clear of rubbish
-
The house is clean
-
You have left your wheelie bin for the next tenant
-
You have done any repairs you are responsible for
-
The decoration is in a reasonable condition
How will I be paid?
We will either send you a cheque, or make a credit to your bank account if you have given us your details within 20 days of your tenancy ending. Payment is made to the outgoing tenant. If you have a joint tenancy, it will be paid in joint names unless another arrangement has been made with us in advance. If you owe us other debts, these will be taken off the award before it is paid to you.
If you are thinking of moving and would like to know more about the Tidy Tenancy scheme, contact any member of our Housing, Maintenance or Allocations teams for more information. Contact details can be found at the following link: Staff Contact List
