ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2009
Albyn's Annual General Meeting took place on 28 September 2009 at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness. 47 Members and guests attended and received presentations from Albyn's Chairperson, Chief Executive, Finance Director and Development Director. In addition, the meeting heard from the guest speaker, Mr Brian Weaver, Chief Executive of Highlands & Islands Social Enterprise Zone (HISEZ). An outline of the evening's events is noted below:

CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT
Mrs Ella MacRae updated on the progress that Albyn has made through the year. She thanked both the Committee and the staff for all their hard work throughout the year.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S REPORT
Mr Calum Macaulay presented his report to the AGM. He too thanked the staff for their support and hard work through the year.

FINANCE & IT DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Mr Nairn took the group through the main points regarding Albyn’s financial performance through the year. This financial information is included in the 2008/09 Annual Report and Mr Nairn’s Powerpoint presentation can be downloaded from the right hand side bar.
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR’S PRESENTATION
Mr Lockhart gave a Powerpoint presentation on the new developments that have been built through the year. This presentation can be downloaded from the right hand side bar. Due to the size of this document, it has been saved into two parts.
ELECTION TO THE COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT
All of the Committee of Management members were re-appointed to the Committee. In addition, Ms Sheena Slimon was welcomed as a new Committee member.
The Committee re-appointed the following office bearers:
Chairperson: Mrs Ella MacRae
Vice-Chair: Mrs Isobel McLaughlan
Secretary: Mr George Kelman
APPOINTMENT OF BAKER TILLY AS AUDITORS
Baker Tilly were re-appointed as Albyn’s Auditors for 2009/10.
GUEST SPEAKER
Mr Brian Weaver, Chief Executive of Highlands & Islands Social Enterprise Zone (HISEZ) was welcomed as the guest speaker. Mr Weaver gave an interesting speech on social enterprise; how Albyn Housing supported local businesses in this regard and the types of social enterprise organisations that exist within the Highlands.
