Albyn Housing Society Invests in Improvement
07 December 2011

We are embarking on a £1m investment programme to upgrade its properties across Invergordon and Milton of Kildary.  Three hundred properties in the region will soon boast new kitchens providing much needed modern amenities for tenants while giving construction jobs to 15 staff.

Calum Macaulay, our Chief Executive, said:  “We remain dedicated to ensuring our properties are well maintained and improved upon as much as possible. What’s more we have a strong desire to improve the energy efficiency of our tenants’ homes, to help address fuel poverty and tackle climate change.  With this in mind, next on our agenda is to install new heating systems to properties in various locations within the Highlands.

“To deliver this investment initiative we have established a partnership agreement between Albyn Housing Society, the infrastructure, support services and construction group Robertson and Quantity Surveyors Armour & Partners.  This collaborative approach is based upon trust and openness. The overall intention is to complete the contract with a minimum of disruption to our tenants and to demonstrate the partnership’s capacity to deliver high quality service.”

Frank Reid, Regional Managing Director at Robertson, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Albyn Housing Society, once again, to deliver this significant project. The upgrading of these properties will not only add to the aesthetic value of the homes but will also go some way to delivering more energy efficient homes.”

Dundee-based JTC Furniture Group is supplying the kitchens for this programme.
